Camera Scanner takes jokes to the next level by pretending to scan photos, producing funny results. You can use any existing image in your local gallery for your pranks or you can take new ones. However, it doesn’t turn your device into an X-ray apparatus, so don’t get too excited.
An app for jokesters
Camera Scanner has a pretty straightforward user interface. There is a series of buttons you have to click and some text talking about the app’s features. At the same time, you will notice that the screen is filled with ads from top to bottom. If you’re not careful, you will probably end up clicking on one and getting redirected to a different website.
The app will make you choose between a few options shown on consecutive pages. You will pick a gender, skin tone, upper or lower body portion, and if it’s front- or back-facing. In between these pages are more ads, and while you can quickly skip them, they can get annoying. Eventually, you will get asked to upload a photo from your gallery.
Then, you can rotate or drag your desired image according to the shape on the screen. Once you click the generate button at the bottom, you will get the finished product. It’s just the image you’ve chosen that you can draw on à la scratch card to reveal another layer underneath. However, instead of seeing a scanned version, you will most likely find emojis. It’s pretty disappointing.
Easy-to-use prank app
Camera Scanner is not a real X-ray scanner app. You can’t use it to see what a person is wearing under their clothes or for any other similar purpose. However, it works as a great prank app. You just have to be patient enough in exiting the plethora of ads that plague its interface, upload a photo from your gallery, and you’re good to go.
